CaragaHRDC conducts Seminar-Workshop on Climate Change and its Impact to Health
Members of the Caraga HRDC attended the 2-day seminar-workshop on Climate Change and its Impact to Health. The activity speakers were: Lolita Vinalay, Chief Meteorological Officer, PAGASA, Caraga Region talk on the Climate Change patterns and Trends, Mr. Paulito of DOH-CHD Caraga discussed the Caraga Health Situation, Dr. Juan Ma. Pablo Nanagas of PNHRS, Manila shared some Approaches on Selecting Researchable Area . Mr. Relos, Senior Weather Specialist of DOST-PAGASA, Manila discussed the Health Impact of Climate Change and Extreme Weather Events.
The participants were able to come up with topics to be developed and finalized and submitted for funding. One study is on Climate Change and Incidence of Pneumonia in Caraga Region. Another proposed study will be on the Management of Vector-borne Diseases (Dengue) in Relation to Climate Change. The capsule proposal will be finalized and submitted on September 30, 2010.
